The Women’s Football Alliance (WFA) continues to dominate the airwaves, as its 2025 National Championship, held on Saturday, July 26 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium at the Pro Football Hall of Fame, captured over 200,000 total live viewers on ESPN2—making it the most-watched sporting event of the day, Saturday July 26.
Over the past four years, WFA Championship Games have consistently outperformed all other sporting events aired on the same day, with a top average viewership of 184,000. These numbers place the WFA shoulder-to-shoulder with other premier women’s sports leagues, including the NWSL, which averaged 188,000 viewers per game during the 2025 season.
“Our continued growth in national broadcast viewership proves the immense appeal and staying power of women’s tackle football,” said WFA Commissioner Lisa King. “The response from fans speaks volumes—and we’re just getting started.”
With the addition of the 2025 WFA Playoffs airing on ESPN+, the league has further solidified its position as a broadcast powerhouse and trailblazer in women’s sports. Featuring over 50 professional tackle teams and a growing international footprint spanning 9 countries and 4 continents, the WFA is redefining the landscape of women’s football worldwide.
