Allyson Hamlin

Born in Heidelberg, Germany, on August 18, 1976.  She grew up in University Park, Maryland, and played college softball for the University of Maryland.  As a catcher, she was part of a Terrapins team that won the ACC championship in 1997.

Hamlin graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.A. in Criminology/Criminal Justice in 1998 and joined the Prince George’s County Police Department the following year.  She has been assigned to the Homicide Unit since 2009 and has now worked on over 350 homicide cases.  Hamlin is currently the longest-tenured female working on the Homicide Unit.

In 2002, Allyson Hamlin joined the D.C. Divas, a women’s full-contact football team, and she quickly established herself as one of the top quarterbacks in women’s football.  An eleven-time all-pro, Hamlin has compiled a 99-24 career record as a starting quarterback.  She has thrown 236 touchdown passes, rushed for 26 touchdowns and amassed over 16,000 passing yards in her career.  She has a career passing Touchdown/Interception ratio of 3.86. Hamlin has won three national championships as the Divas’ starting quarterback in 2006, 2015, and 2016.  After quarterbacking the Divas to back-to-back National Championships, she retired from the D.C. Divas after her 14th season of play in 2016.  In 2016, Hamlin was named the National Conference Player of the Year.

In February of 2017, Hamlin was selected to the U.S. Women’s National Team that won gold at the IFAF World Championship in Vancouver, Canada.  Since retiring from the Divas in 2016, Hamlin transitioned to coaching and has served at the Divas’ Offensive Coordinator the last two seasons.
