WFA Signs 2023 Network Deal with ESPN

The Women’s Football Alliance is proud to announce that the 2023 WFA Pro National Championship Game will be broadcast on ESPN2 on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 2PM ET. After the 2022 National Championship broadcast received the highest viewership ratings that ESPN2 had achieved in years for it’s Sunday time slot, ESPN was excited to offer a move to Saturday afternoon. Both the network and the WFA are expecting significantly higher viewership on Saturday, in a breakout year for the league.

This is the WFA Pro’s second major network deal signed for the 2023 season. Earlier this year, the WFA secured a deal with the first-of-it’s-kind Women’s Sports Network to have 2023 WFA Pro regular season games televised on their network. Games will be available across multiple streaming platforms including Amazon Freevee, FuboTV, LG Channels on LG Smart TVs, Local Now, Plex, Sports.tv, Tubi and Xumo. The Women’s Sports Network will showcase all the major women’s sports league including WNBA, LPGA, Athletes Unlimited, and U.S. Ski & Snowboard.

“When provided the national platform, viewership ratings confirm that the WFA audience is huge,” stated Lisa King, WFA Commissioner. “ESPN and the Women’s Sports Network will be instrumental to our continued record growth in our fanbase and viewership and we are grateful to be given this opportunity to showcase the very best women’s football teams in the world.”

WFA National Championship weekend will be hosted at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, OH. More information on the weekends events and how to purchase tickets on Ticketmaster will be available soon at www.wfaprofootball.com
