IN HER OWN WORDS:WFA Spotlight: Stephanie Marshall, FS, Austin Outlaws
Sports have always been a passion of mine. But, being homeschooled, we didn’t get a lot of opportunities to play them. However, a private school did let us play basketball with them but then we were kicked off because all of the homeschoolers were starting and the parents that paid for their child to attend the school were not happy. We were able to find another school and went on to win the championship!

When I found football I felt like I found that place again, but so much more. It is such an honor and privilege to get to take the field and play a game I have loved since I was a kid. I think we all may have similar stories of not being able to play as little girls and that is how it started for me. My mom still doesn’t like that I play but my dad thinks it’s pretty cool. My hope is that if a girl wants to play she gets to play. I can already see that is changing and what a great feeling to be a part of that change.
