The Women’s Football Alliance (WFA) is thrilled to announce a new groundbreaking agreement with ESPN, which will include the broadcast of the WFA 2025 National Championship and the exploration of additional content opportunities throughout the season.  This significant deal marks a milestone in the growth and recognition of women’s tackle football, showcasing the dedication and talent of female athletes in this fast-growing sport.

Over the past three years, the WFA National Championship game on ESPN has amassed significant live viewership numbers rivaling other major women’s professional sports leagues and demonstrating the increasing popularity and strong audience support for women’s tackle football. This new agreement with ESPN further cements the sport’s rising profile and promises to bring even greater visibility to the incredible athletes who are shaping its future.

“This new contract with ESPN is a testament to the high level of football played on the field contributing to the growing popularity of our league, on a national and international level,” said Lisa King, Commissioner of the WFA. “We are excited to expand our work with ESPN to include not only our National Championship Game, but to add more games and content to our rapidly expanding fanbase.”

The WFA National Championship, set to air in July of 2025, will showcase the two most competitive women’s tackle football teams in the world battling for supremacy.
