Women’s Football Alliance (WFA) Announces Launch of WFA National Flag Football League

The Women’s Football Alliance (WFA), the largest, longest-running, and most competitive women’s football league in the world, is proud to announce the addition of the WFA National Flag Football League. This groundbreaking expansion will begin with 58 WFA teams and culminate in a 24-team National Championship Tournament at the prestigious Tom Benson Pro Football Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio.

The National Championship Game will be broadcasted on AWSN, with the championship team earning a $10,000 prize. This championship will be part of the largest women’s football National Championship event in the world, featuring both flag and tackle competitions. The action-packed weekend will also host the WFA Pro, Division 2, and Division 3 National Championship Games, as well as the highly anticipated WFA All-American Game, where 100 of the top women’s tackle football players from 58 teams will showcase their elite talent. The WFA Pro National Championship Game will be nationally televised on ESPN2.

The National Championship weekend will take place on July 26 and 27th, bringing together the best teams and athletes for an unforgettable showcase of talent and competition.

With the addition of a national flag league, the WFA is solidifying a competitive feeder program while supporting one of the fastest-growing sports for females in America. As flag football continues to gain traction at the high school, college, and now Olympic levels, the WFA is committed to being the home of the top female athletes in the world.

The WFA also has affiliate leagues in nine countries across four continents, helping to expand women’s football on an international level. By fostering global partnerships, the WFA is playing a crucial role in elevating the sport worldwide and creating more opportunities for female athletes everywhere.

The WFA National Flag Football League will not only showcase world-class talent but also provide a direct path for the next generation of players.”
