The WFA is pleased to announce a partnership with LIFFAE (Liga Femenil de Football Americano Equipado/Women’s American Tackle Football League). With over 30 teams in 3 Divisions, LIFFAE is the largest and most competitive women’s football league in Mexico. The partnership was solidified January 8th during a press conference in Mexico City where WFA Commissioner, Lisa King and WFA International Director, Jeff King met with LIFFAE Commissioner Miguel Caro and the President of the Mexican American Football Federation (FMFA), Cesar Barrera.
As part of the partnership, LIFFAE All-Stars will compete in the inaugural International Bowl during Championship Weekend at the Hall of Fame Village in Canton, OH July 8th, 2022. In addition, the WFA International Travel team, Team United, will compete against the LIFFAE Division I Champions in September of 2022.
“LIFFAE is one of the top women‘s football league in the world and we can’t wait to work together to further unify women’s football,” stated Jeff King, WFA International Director. “We are excited to begin sharing resources, creating a player exchange, and playing competitive games against each other.”
