Historic viewership milestone signals continued growth and rising national prominence for women’s professional football
Canton, OH — ESPN and the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA) have reached a multi-year media rights agreement for the exclusive presentation of the WFA National Championship Games across ESPN platforms, further expanding ESPN’s commitment to premier women’s sports programming.
Under the agreement, ESPN will televise the WFA Pro National Championship Games, delivering the league’s marquee event to a national audience and providing enhanced visibility for one of the fastest-growing properties in women’s professional sports.
The partnership builds on significant audience momentum, as the 2025 WFA National Championship generated more than 969,000 live viewers, ranking as the most-watched sporting event of that weekend. The performance reflects continued growth in demand for elite women’s football and reinforces the WFA’s upward trajectory within the broader sports marketplace.
