Following Successful Initial Season, WFA Secures Long-Term Global Distribution
CANTON, OHIO — On the heels of a successful one-year partnership, All Women’s Sports Network (AWSN) and Women’s Football Alliance (WFA), the world’s largest, most competitive and longest-running women’s professional tackle football organization, today announced a new, three-year media distribution agreement that begins with live broadcasts of multiple league games on Saturday, May 9.
The live AWSN broadcast of WFA action on May 9 begins at 6:00 p.m. ET/3:00 p.m. PT when the D.C. Divas host the Pittsburgh Passion.
“WFA’s first year of success on AWSN as well as the league’s overall development clearly signals that there is a growing demand for women’s tackle football,” said AWSN CEO George Chung, “and based on what we saw from the initial one-year partnership, we are excited to be able to deliver all of the fast-paced, hard-hitting action that the league’s season provides, on a consistent basis for the next three years.”
“This expansion into a multi-year agreement validates the strength of our product and the growing global demand for women’s football,” said Lisa King, WFA Commissioner. “Our first year with AWSN proved what’s possible. This long-term partnership allows us to scale that success and deliver consistent global exposure for our athletes.”
The new three-year agreement will see live AWSN broadcasts of regular season games, including featured “WFA Games of the Week”, and other original content that provides fans with an up-close look at the league’s teams and the lives and personalities of its players.
Launched by entertainment icon Whoopi Goldberg and Jungo TV in November 2024, AWSN is available to over 1 billion viewers across 60 countries globally, positioning the WFA for unprecedented growth in both the U.S. and internationally.
